As made-in-Canada enthusiasts, we can appreciate homegrown apples, so this week we went searching for an orchard to visit. What we found was the magical Carl Laidlaw Orchards. Located in Brampton, Ontario, Carl Laidlaw Orchards seems to have a special vibe to it, a little something that sets it apart from other orchards.
You only need to visit their Instagram to get what we're saying (we obviously encourage a real life visit). And the mood they've created continues on their website — how many apple orchards do you know that have a 'we believe' manifesto? We co-sign all their 'beliefs', but here are a few favs:
You can never have too many apples in your fridge.
Good apple pies are a considerable part of our domestic happiness. – Jane Austin
Giving an apple pie is a lovely gesture.
Oh yeah, did we mention their little wooden café? Tucked beside a river, it sounds like the perfect place to post up with a hot apple cider after an afternoon harvest.
