Even back in 1918 photographers craved that white backdrop. These photos from theVancouver Public Library of the 1918 Vancouver Millionaires illustrate the struggle of the pre-photoshop era. To isolate people in photographs for posters or other print pieces, photographers and designers had to paint around the subject. Ironically we love this unfinished work as-is.
