Province of Canada - Tri-colour Flag - Made in Canada

Since 2014, we've taken how we feel about our country and presented it through a casual lifestyle that - we believe - wholly reflects Canada. Since the beginning, we've sought to design everyday items that the citizens could be proud to wear. That goal is the same today, but the pieces we're creating now look a little different.

Our team started playing around with new designs over the summer and ultimately decided to hit refresh and launch a rebrand for Province of Canada. We thought we'd share about some of our design decisions and what they symbolize for our brand in 2018.

You may have noticed a tri-colour addition to our brand. It could appear in the form of a ribbon on our crewneck cuff or t-shirt sleeve, or in the form of an actual flag waving on a Canadian beach. Including this little symbol is our way of authenticating the DNA of each Province of Canada piece as 100% designed and manufactured in Canada, and our hope is that the citizens grow to recognize it as our stamp of approval. At the very least, we hope it starts that kind of conversation.

Beyond the muted red and grey colours, you might notice that the flag's proportions are true to that of the Canadian flag. Think of it as a toned-down Canadian flag that symbolizes our brand's commitment to keeping everything made in Canada.

Despite a change in design, our promise to keep everything made in Canada is one that we will continue to uphold. Why? There’s a reason you feel reassured when you find a product that reads ‘made in Canada’ on the label. To many, local manufacturing is synonymous with quality and equality, which is why we’ve made ‘Canada first’ the main pillar of our company. Keeping everything made in Canada makes our design studio a second home and our manufacturers our neighbours, and that’s really the most Canadian thing we can think of.

Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it's the only thing that ever has. - Margaret Mead
