One of the ongoing inspirations behind Province of Canada is this new wave the country is riding. It’s the one we talk about here and the one the New York Timesrecently highlighted. Since we launched, we’ve set out to create a brand that helps illustrate that there’s more to Canadian style than moccasins and Mountie hats—our neighbours around the world are starting to catch the wave.
At the top of this wave is Canada’s new ‘First Lady’, Sophie Grégoire-Trudeau but she’s riding it with the Hudson’s Bay surfbort that Jessica Mulroney picked out for her. Jessica, wife to Ben Mulroney, who works for Hudson’s Bay via Kleinfeld Bridal, knows a thing or two about style, and has already connected with Sophie (can we call her Sophie?), to create some iconic, Canadian fashion moments.

P.S. If you’re looking for some Canadian ‘First Lady’ level, style advice be sure to follow Jessica on the gram. She’s currently taking part in LouLou Magazine’s 366 Days of Looks. We were flattered that our Province Puff Crewneck in Black (pictured above, available online and at Over the Rainbow) made the cut. Thanks Jessica!
