Butter Tarts are Canadian, true story. The oldest known recipe originated in Barrie, Ontario. From there, butter tarts made their way into kitchens, bakeries, and bake sales across the country. Team raisins or no? Pecans or plain? These are debates best saved for late-night indulging — ideally while wearing your favourite fleece sweatsuit.
